Johnny was the name of the mascot. He’s actually a baby seal….for some reason.

Thus the song “Johnny’s Back” on Thundersteel as well as appearing on Immortal Soul.

I was disappointed by the last few Van Halen releases (especially “III”) and I felt how they treated Michael Anthony was out of line…so I wasn’t particularly interested in this new release.

I figured it couldn’t possibly live up to the high expectations…but, due to your review, I think I’ll check it out!

Same here. I was happy when I saw this at Half Price Books. Then I started to read and was so disappointed. It is beyond bad and what;s worse is this is a great subject that someone needs to write about.

Yup, I bought my copy on it’s “North American release date”. My buddy Coverdale bought it as an import last Nov/Dec and loved it… except for “Tainted Love” as well.

I just don’t understand why there is such a “system” in place, where so many CD’s are released in Europe first, then everywhere else… months later. The DORO “25 Years Of Rock” box set was months apart in it’s European vs. North America release dates. It just doesn’t make a micro-ounce of sense to me.

Need to check this side project out from Joe Lynn Turner, I had no idea what concept of the band was for Turner to cover his own songs from various projects.
